Summer is Here

My starting point has always been the same: the colour of the sea, the texture of Dalmatian façades, the ethereality of the sky, but the most powerful origin of my artistic work is not only my unbreakable bond with the Mediterranean, but also my many travels and moves, especially my newest move to Sri Lanka. Every new environment in which I have lived affects what I inherited in childhood: the pictures of the Mediterranean which have determined me and stayed with me despite meeting new cultures. My newest works draw origins from my previous cycle, “Stories About Cities”. I continue to question how the passing of time acts on the architecture of a city. The cycle of Mediterranean houses, which I present here, is an interpretation of my city of birth, Zadar, and its history. This is the picture I have soaked in growing up with the stone masonry of Roman and Venetian legacy, the Forum, the fort walls, and the squares, which I continually admire.
